Weird "eBay errors"

Red error listings have errors because eBay rejected them for some reason. If your error appears on the list below,, please contact eBay customer support for more details.  These are not Auction Hawk error messages and do not reflect a problem with your Auction Hawk account.

Generally if you go to http://www.ebay.com and click "sell", you will receive a message explaining why you are unable to launch listings through eBay.

eBay error message

Explanation

"Invalid eBay Token..."

You need to go to your Auction Hawk user profile and authenticate your token, under "eBay Info."

"Your account has exceeded the limit. You will be unable to complete this request until payment is made or a credit card is put on file for automatic monthly billing."

"Please create a sellers account..."

These errors indicate you must go to eBay to resolve a problem with your eBay account.  Possible reasons include:

  • eBay requires your credit card for a seller account.

  • eBay may need a new credit card or expiration date.

  • eBay may need a credit card with a higher spending limit.

  • eBay may be asking for a past due balance.

"XML Parse error..."

Remove the "accented e" from your description. eBay cannot accept that character set.

"Please select a state or province..."

Unfortunately we do not support eBay's Travel-related categories, since they require extra fields we do not have in our lister.

"Email address cannot be used for PayPal payments at this time."

eBay is not allowing you to accept PayPal payments for some reason.

"Internal error to the application."

eBay is not accepting your listing for an unstated reason.  As for the exact reason why, it could be anything, most likely an unusual character in your listing (see above).  You might try slicing your text fields in half until you find the bad text.
