Uploading Images via FTP

Note:  FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, allows a larger upload without having to use our web interface.  Auction Hawk will even resize the images automatically to fit snugly into your listings and gallery, without affecting picture quality.

 

Images you upload are transferred to your Listings folders at the top of each hour. You may upload entire 1-level directories.  They may not have sub-directories.

 

IMPORTANT: Your file names cannot have any spaces, or transfers will abort with an error. Use a dash "-" or underscore "_" instead.

 

Uploading using an Internet Explorer browser window:

 

1. Try using the link we provide you on your MY HOME page, at the bottom left.

2. If that doesn't work, open Internet Explorer and enter this into the Location box:  ftp://USERNAME:PASSWORD@ftp.auctionhawk.com.

3. Substitute your Auction Hawk username and password for the caps.

4. Drag images (or folders full of images, with no directories) and drop them into the window.

Uploading via FTP program:

 

1. Download and install an FTP program.  We recommend AceFTP or CuteFTP.

2. Inside the FTP program, set up a new connection to Auction Hawk:

1. Server Name:  ftp.auctionhawk.com

2. Username and password: Same as your Auction Hawk account.

3. Drag your images over to Auction Hawk.
