Bulk-Uploading Listings with Microsoft Excel

This new bulk feature was created for people who list hundreds, or thousands, of similar listings.

 

Using an Excel spreadsheet, you can upload your listings in bulk. It's very simple to use.  You may upload the Excel file directly without having to convert it to any other format.

 

Creating the bulk upload:

 

  1. First, you will need to have created one or more templates you download from us.  There is one special consideration here:  In the template description. use the case-sensitive words CUSTOM1, CUSTOM2, CUSTOM3, etc. in places where you want to use text substitution.

  2. An example description might be as follows.  You can wait to figure out what CUSTOM1 says when you make the spreadsheet.

You are bidding on a beautiful CUSTOM1.  I am the original owner and this item has been stored in a smoke-free room as long as I have had it.  All my items come in the original box.
 

  1. On your Listings -> Templates page, look in the template ID column to find your template ID codes. An example id is "1GD3F". The template code can be used for as many entries as you like, just be sure to make the appropriate changes in the “CUSTOM” fields.

  2. Download a copy of our excel spreadsheet on your hard drive.

  3. Fill in all the other spreadsheet fields as you would normally.

  4. Upload your spreadsheet..

  5. You may include as many sub-tab spreadsheets as you want.  The listings from each tab will be imported into Auction Hawk.
